VDS Plug-ins

There are hundreds of plug-ins available from VDS including not only effects but also workflow boosting connectivity tools and even a complete film restoration system, Filmworks. Plug-ins are usually bundled in Neuron bundles and each Neuron bundles typically contains many plug-ins. The Neuron bundles need the Synapse environment which is sold including the popular Genarts Sapphire plug-ins.

Neurons 10 Includes Furnace from The Foundry. Furnace comprises Kronos for sophisticated motion flow analysis based effects and Steadiness which automatically tracks and removes camera shake on even the most difficult of shots. Neurons bundle 10 also includes Conoa 3D allowing 3D graphics primitives to be lit and textured.

Neurons 9 - Adds the Panopticum FX Collection. This bundle provides a collection of special image effects including Engraver, Figure, Fire, Grid, Lens Pro III, Universal Lens III, Camera Noise, Compare Mask, Echo, Emboss, Null Strobe, Photo, Region, Resizer, Speckle, Strip and Zombie Frame.


Neurons 8 - Get Media100 Final Effects Complete on generationQ. This bundle brings a comprehensive collection of effects plug-ins from graceful blurs and edges to radical warps and particle generators.

Neurons 7 - Delirium is an amazing set of plug-ins that includes over 40 creative tools that will make your work stand out! With Delirium you can create natural phenomena like snow storms with naturally falling flakes onto an image or generate stunningly realistic fire and smoke.


Neurons 6 - Adds the highly popular Sapphire plugin range from GenArts. Once again Quantel operators can get access to the industry's favourite plugins.



Neurons 5 - Adds the popular Knoll Light Factory 2 plugin set from Red Giant Software.




Neurons 4 - Adds Eye Candy from Alien Skin which includes plugins such as Chrome, Jiggle, Fur, Carve and Antimatter.




Neurons 3 - Adds Tinderbox 1, 2 and 3 from The Foundry, a comprehensive collection of lens flares, distortion effects, cloud and sky generators, painterly effects, matte tools, blurs, wipes, and much, much more.


Neurons 2 - Adds Twixtor, ReelSmart Motion Blur, Shade/Shape, SmoothKit, FieldsKit and Video Gogh from RE:Vision Effects as well as Shine and Starglow from Trapcode.


Neurons 1 includes the full Boris Continuum Complete plugin set. This family of filters includes ultra-fast blurs, blurs, superior keying and matte tools, true optical colour correction, natural effects such as snow, rain, and fire, and a suite of time-based effects. This is the latest version of BCC and includes 20 new plug-ins delivering vector-based graphic primary shapes and 16-bit support.

Synapse is required by all iQ, eQ and gQ users of VDS Neuron Bundles. Synapse provides the environment on generationQ systems in which to run the After Effects plugins. Synapse includes Neurons 6 when purchased for iQ, eQ or gQ. Available from Quantel

Synapse LE is required by all Paintbox, sQEdit Plus, Paintbox gQ, and QEffects users and provides a cost effective entry point for generationQ users to gain access to the many creative plugins available in the Neurons. Digital Anarchy's Text Anarchy 2.0 - Text Anarchy 2.0 is composed of eight versatile filters that provide specific methods for producing a wide variety of text effects, ranging from animating set text in motion to individual letters. Great for random text generation and backgrounds.

reQuest, reConnect, & psdQ are a brand-new line of utility applications that provide the Quantel generationQ range operator a file transfer utility, allowing direct native file transfer capabilities between Quantel's generationQ range of products and many other industry standard video-graphics and live-to-air systems.

reQuest provides the Quantel operator with a full suite of file transfer tools. With reQuest, file interchange between generationQ and products like Pinnacle Thunder/Lightning, Legacy Quantel Systems, or Photoshop has never been easier. reQuest makes the task of transferring files simple and intuitive. In addition, reQuest supports the updating of database descriptive information where applicable, allowing the generationQ operator to create or update metadata remotely. reQuest supports the following file formats: Alias Pix Files (.pix), Chyron RGB and Still Files, Liberty (.im), Maya (.iff), Quantel (vpb), Photoshop (.psd) including layers, PICT, Pinnacle G Files (.g), PNG, Softimage (.pic), Wavefront (.rla) and Raw YUV.

reConnect gives the latest Quantel range the ability to browse, import, and export image files to and from Quantel legacy systems with Picturenet Plus, such as Paintbox, Picturebox, Hal, Henry, Editbox and Pictureframe. A great low cost utility for those not requiring the full feature set of reQuest.
